Our first committee is SPECPOL which is a beginner-level committee. The Special Political and Decolonization Committee (Fourth Committee) addresses critical issues such as peacekeeping, decolonization, and the rights of peoples. It also engages with political matters concerning international cooperation and the enduring effects of colonialism. In this committee, delegates will discuss the ongoing cultural erosion and identity struggles faced by indigenous communities as a direct consequence of colonization. For generations, their traditions, languages, and customs have been marginalized and often overlooked in global discourse. Through thoughtful policy reform, cultural preservation initiatives, and strengthened international collaboration, delegates will work to recognize, protect and uphold the rich heritage and dignity of these communities.
Agenda Item: Preservation of indigenous cultures in formerly colonized regions
