The United Nations Human Rights Council, established in 2006, is a UN body aiming to promote and protect human rights for all, with its 47 members.

With the increasing reliance on automated decision-making (ADM) systems in healthcare, security, education and welfare, some significant concerns have arisen regarding the protection of socioeconomic rights. While addressing how algorithm-driven systems affect access to essential services, the agenda focuses on examining issues including the lack of transparency and accountability, possible discrimination, and several other important problems caused by ADM systems.

Agenda item: The impact of automated decision making on socioeconomic rights
